The decision was to take a total of 10,000 photographs, in motion and without looking through the viewfinder. The photographic act is thus deliberately determined as an act of chance, and chance itself is caught between movement and photographic fixing. The neologism Transformance (transformation/performance) designates the active but optically impassive intervention in the space-time-continuum.

Eine Zahl von 10000 zu machenden Aufnahmen wurde gesetzt. Ohne durch den Sucher zu blicken, wurden sie aus Bewegungen heraus aufgenommen. Der fotografische Akt wird programmatisch als Akt des Zufalls bestimmt, der Zufall selbst dann wiederum zwischen Bewegung und fotografischer Fixierung gefaßt. Der Neologismus Transformance (Transformation/Performance) bezeichnet den aktiven, aber optisch unbewußten Eingriff in das raumzeitliche Gefüge.
